Sawdust Charcoal – Standard Grade

Softwood Sawdust Charcoal – Standard Grade

CONTACT US

  • Commercial Name: Softwood Sawdust Charcoal – Standard Grade
  • Product Code: SC-02
  • Origin: Vietnam
Product Features
Softwood Sawdust Charcoal is a clean-burning briquette charcoal produced from 100% plantation wood sawdust, including acacia, eucalyptus, and other sustainably grown wood species. The raw material is screened, purified, and dried before being compressed through a high-pressure screw briquetting process with heated molds at approximately 250°C. This allows the wood particles to bond naturally through the lignin contained in the wood itself without the use of any chemicals or artificial binders.
After briquetting, the product undergoes carbonization and thermal refining to remove most remaining moisture, natural resins, and volatile compounds. As a result, the charcoal delivers clean combustion with low smoke, low odor, stable heat output, and reliable performance. Compared with hardwood sawdust charcoal, it generally offers easier ignition while maintaining good burning stability for everyday use.
Softwood Sawdust Charcoal is widely used for BBQ restaurants, grilling operations, household cooking, heating, and applications that require a clean, reliable, and cost-effective fuel source.

Softwood Sawdust Charcoal is produced from sawdust and recovered wood by-products generated from Vietnam’s plantation forestry and wood processing industries. The raw material is mainly sourced from sawmills, pallet manufacturers, veneer and plywood factories, engineered wood producers, wood chip processing facilities, and wood processing plants serving both domestic and export markets.
Vietnam is recognized as one of the leading countries in the region for plantation forestry and wood processing, with approximately 4.7 million hectares of planted forests supplying raw materials to multiple industrial sectors. Among plantation species, Acacia (Acacia spp.) and Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus spp.) are the most widely cultivated due to their rapid growth, broad adaptability, and efficient harvesting cycles.
A significant portion of plantation timber harvested in Vietnam is used for wood pallets, export wood chips, paper production, industrial boards, biomass pellets, and various wood manufacturing applications. During these processing activities, large volumes of sawdust and wood residues are generated.
Previously, this sawdust was often considered a low-value by-product and was mainly used for simple heat generation or disposal. With the development of biomass charcoal manufacturing and carbonization technology, these recovered wood materials are increasingly collected and transformed into higher-value carbon products.
One of the key characteristics of plantation wood sawdust is its relatively uniform composition, mainly consisting of Acacia and Eucalyptus species. Compared with hardwood sawdust, plantation sawdust typically has more consistent particle size distribution and lower impurity levels, making screening, cleaning, and quality control processes more efficient and stable.
After collection, the sawdust undergoes screening, impurity removal, and drying processes before entering the briquetting stage using high-pressure screw extrusion combined with thermal heating technology. Under pressure and heat, wood particles naturally bind together to form dense biomass logs without using any chemical additives or binding agents.
The briquettes are then processed through carbonization and high-temperature thermal refining to remove moisture, volatile compounds, and remaining organic impurities, resulting in a clean-burning organic charcoal product with low smoke, high heat output, and stable quality for a wide range of applications.
